Heavy rain, mud and cold is not something most couples hope for during their wedding day. I am sure that Anna and Emil had no such weather wishes either. Yet this is exactly what happened on this April 28th.
Anna and Emil had a beautiful, small and quite ceremony at the Holy Trinity Armenian Church in Toronto. The ceremony included a crowning of the Queen – The Bride and a crowning of the King – The Groom. Immediately after the ceremony they celebrated together with the family with some glass of Champagne.
Although we have the privilege of seeing many couples in love, I immediately knew that Anna and Emil were special and unique. It’s not just the way they looked at each other, eyes full of care, love and vision of their future together but its the unwavering focus they had on each other during the challenging rainy photo session at the Scarborough Bluffs following their ceremony.
Despite the rain, the heavy sticky mud and pools of streaming brown water all around us, Anna and Emil seemed unconcerned about their wet shoes, cloths and that white dress which by the end of the session was black at the bottom.
When their shoes grew heavy with the collected mud, they continued to smile and laugh as they dipped their shoes inside the cold Lake Ontario to wash off their bottom and make them usable once more.
Instead of focusing on this miserable weather they focused on each other and the beautiful love and happiness which they experienced right after the wedding. What a great approach.
It was a remarkable photo shoot which I will never forget. Thank you Anna and Emil for allowing me to share and document your bright laughter in the middle of this dark rainy photo session.
Wishing you both much happiness and future sunshine!
