Not far south from Toronto, across Lake Ontario lies the magic and wonder of the spectacular Niagara Falls. 14 million tourists visit the falls each year. However, Liza and Bryan had a much more intimate gathering in mind. A Peachy Niagara on the Lake Wedding.
Located north of the falls, the municipality of Niagara on the Lake features many vineyards, restaurant and wedding venues. Clearly, they are perfect for an outdoor ceremony and reception gathering. To be sure, we are fortunate to shoot here often. Therefore, we can certainly say that the wedding photography opportunities at Kurtz Orchard and Niagara on the Lake are magical.
For instance, few venues are as romantic, rustic, natural and luxuries as the Kurtz Orchard Niagara on the Lake Wedding Venue. Incidentally, Kurtz Orchard is very familiar to Liza and Bryan as it is owned by their family who are, believe it or not, peach experts! Kurtz Orchard is a working Peach Farm. In our mind, it is one of the best venues for a luxe Niagara on the Lake Wedding.
GETTING READY IN NIAGARA ON THE LAKE:
Liza and Bryan stayed at the Gate House Hotel at 142 Queen St, Niagara-on-the-Lake. This is where they got ready with their family and friends before their first look just outside the hotel. In many ways, it is magical to witness two people with so much love and kindness for each other see each other for the first time on their wedding day. It is a privilege we never take lightly.
CEREMONY AT THE KURTZ ORCHARD PEACH FARM:
The wedding ceremony took place in front of the peach trees at the Kurtz Orchard in the bright sun. Having a background of peach trees for your ceremony is somehow so calming and does produce great images and captured moments.
PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION AT THE NIAGARA SHORES PARK:
Next, after the ceremony we headed to the Niagara Shores Park on the well known by locals Fire Road 1. The road reaches a secluded and wild Lake Ontario shore. No doubt, this waterfront creates plenty of great opportunities for rugged Wedding and Engagement Photography.
WEDDING SUNSET SESSION IN THE HISTORIC NIGARA ON THE LAKE TOWN:
Also, one of the most attractive features of having a Niagara on the Lake Wedding is the ability to shoot right inside this charming 19th century town.
No permit is required for engagement couple or wedding photography. We were fortunate to capture some stunning sunset images with Liza and Bryan. We weaved our way through Queen Street. To explain, Queen street is the Main Street running through the downtown of Niagara-on-the-Lake.
WEDDING RECEPTION AT THE GATE HOUSE:
Actually, Kurtz Orchard can host an outdoor tented reception after your ceremony. However, Liza and Bryan decided to have their wedding reception take place at the Gate House Restaurant. As such, the restaurant features an intimate and relaxed space. Perfect for a luxury wedding reception dinner and dancing well into the night.
