We first met Sara and Glen briefly at the Canada’s Bridal Show in January. While seeing so many people, often for a very limited time, it is difficult to remember everyone or to form a relationship. We were therefore so happy to spend more time with this great couple over a cup of coffee after the show while discussing their wedding day.
They told us about their farm wedding plans and we were both hooked. What immediately stood out to us is just how genuine, open and sincere they both are. We also found out that our very own Toronto Blue Jays play a big part in their lives. You can see first hand the influence of baseball on Sara and Glen’s unique engagement photo shoot here.
We enjoy shooting farm weddings and we also love the cooler temperatures which fall brings. No wonder that this fall farm wedding was such a pleasure for us!
Before the ceremony, we spent time with the Bride, the Groom and their party.
Monika was part of the getting ready preparation at the farm located in Colborne. Sara, was with her bridesmaids and her father who is a most gracious host and a recent farmer. Although the dress was a little complicated to operate, with the help of the entire bridal party, Sara truly looked lovely in it.
Meantime, Norbert was with Glen, his groomsman and Glen’s parents not far from the farm. What a wonderful, warm and open family they are. There was a great sense of both quiet calm and anticipation at the same time. Of course the baseball theme wived its way throughout even in the sock selection.
Following the short and beautiful ceremony on this unseasonably warm fall day, we shot the family portraits and the bridal party images. The natural rolling farmland provided the perfect back drop for these photos, as did the fully restored GMC pick-up truck.
Do it your self wedding decorations are awesome yet can be very time consuming. Its clear to see that both Sara, Glen, their parents and the many others who have helped did an out standing job. A true labour of love. From the directional signage, the ceremony backdrops, the lights in the reception area and the centre pieces. Sara and Glen thought of every single detail. It was so well done that it simply looked outstanding. Great job everyone!
The bride and groom photos were taken on the way to the barn. We love the way that the natural fall foliage created an archway around the walking couple. There is something so rustic and naturally romantic about hay stacks. They were the prefect addition to our photo shoot.
Finally the dinner and reception took place under the tent, with great music, fun and games highlighting this warm night. Of course every detail was once again thought of and created by hand. It must have taken so much work, but it clearly was worth it.
We must admit that this wedding and reception was so much fun that we did not want it to stop. Of course all great celebration must eventually come to past. A sparkler send-off was certainly a grand and fitting end to this amazing farm wedding.
Thank you so much Sara, Glen and your entire family for making us feel such a welcome part of your amazing big day at the farm.
