It was just a few days after the Toronto Island was opened after the flood that we decided to do Nat and Lav’s couple session on the Island. We scheduled our session for Friday morning. Early morning. The gates to the ferries were almost empty, the city slowly was getting up to start another day. We took an 8AM ferry. However if you know me you also know that this is crazy early for me. I needed to get a lot of caffeine before the shoot to even think straight! The air was still a little bit chilly but fresh. The sun was behind the clouds creating the perfect conditions for the photo shoot. Everything was going well so far!
After a 15 minutes ferry ride we got to the Central Island. We were told that this part of the island is in the best condition and that there is no point to go to Ward’s Island or Halana’s Point. My favourite part of the island is Ward’s Island so I was a little bit disappointed not to go there. But hey those who know me, also know that I don’t like to follow the rules! We decided to head to Ward’s Island and just see the conditions with our own eyes. It turned out that this part of the Island was in a pretty good shape! In some ways it was also very magical. Besides us nobody was there. The Island was empty and the fog above Lake Ontario was creating surreal views which I have never see on the island. I love Toronto Island but honestly I never saw the Island this beautiful. Everything was so calm and simply stunning. We had a blast during our session! We felt like the island was creating this magical condition just for us!
Thank you Nav and Lav for a great morning on the Island! It was an amazing start to the day!
