It’s amazing in how many different ways we are meeting our couples. Joanne an Tyler found us on Instagram. A few days later, we met for coffee and had a blast. We talked about their wedding day plans and all the small details which lead them to meet and finally get married! We laughed a lot. Often because of Joanne’s smile which is so contagious! She can laugh and laugh! We knew that we are going to have a lot of fun with these two! We got to know each other a little bit better during their engagement sessions at the Beaches. You can find more images HERE.
Their wedding day was in the middle of September so we didn’t know what to expect in terms of the weather. Especially after the weird summer which wasn’t as nice as typical Toronto’s summers. Luckily, we got surprised by the weather. In a good way! It was a super hot September day! One of the hottest days that month!
Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Boulevard Club. Their wedding incorporated some Chinese Traditions. Joanne had two beautiful dresses: a red and white one. She looked simply stunning in both of them!
Tayler on the other hand, had a slightly unusual getting ready location! He chose to get ready at the Loose Moose Pub downtown Toronto. We love that our couples get creative and are not afraid to do somethings differently!
The getting ready part of the day flew so fast! Tyler traveled to the Boulevard Club and everything began! Door games were waiting for him and for his groomsmen! Joanne’s bridesmaids prepared some challenges for the Guys who did their best to complete all of them. We love this tradition! It is so much fun. After 15 minutes of continuous laughing our stomachs hurt so much!
After completing all of the games, Tyler finally could see Joanne in her traditional red dress! First looks are so simple but so emotional at the same time! They give couples some time just to enjoy each other before the ceremony.
The tea ceremony is another amazing tradition which shows respect to both families who become relatives of each other. It is always a very special moment full of laughter but also a lot of hugs and sometimes words of advice.
After all the Chinese traditions guests gather for the ceremony which was short and sweet! You could easily see Joanne and Tyler’s happiness on their faces!
Just before the sunset we had some time for the outdoor session. Everyone was relaxed and we were able to capture some beautiful colours which were created by the sun which was going down! After that, it was time for a dinner and of course the party!
We mentioned this thousands of time already but we need to say it one more time. We love to shoot weddings which incorporate different traditions. This way we can always stay creative and feel like the world is getting smaller every time when we shoot a wedding. It, in a some way, connects our love to travel and makes us even more curious about the world and all the traditions.
Thank you Joanne and Tyler for trusting us as your wedding photographers. We had a blast!
