There are many ways to meet your other half. One way is to find each other at school. Jillian and Anthony started their journey together at the McMaster University in Hamilton where they both studied. So it really was no surprise to us that they chose the university grounds as the backdrop for their fall engagement session.
What was a surprise was that this session included a most unique Dood. Dood is a Golden Doodle. A four legged family member adopted by Jillian and Anthony. Usually our engagement sessions include only couples, but as we have a soft spot for animals of all kind, Dood was a natural addition to this unique photo shoot.
The brisk air, the leaf covered walkways and the setting sun all helped to make this session truly special. The university grounds include vast open spaces and interesting older architecture mixed with modern infrastructure. It was this juxtaposition of vast and cozy, old and new which really got us excited. We could also tell just how much this university meant for our couple as they shared their stories with us.
Anthony for example remembered how, from the comfort of his dorm-room, he watched the McMaster varsity football team play games on the nearby visible field. At the same time Jillian was a cheerleader in those varsity games. It is remarkable how past locations play such a large part in both our history and in our future.
For us this was a great opportunity for some one of kind images. For Jillian and Anthony, who quickly became comfortable in front of our cameras, it was a return to the familiar places which first kindled their love story. For Dood it was an extended walk and a glamour photo shoot.
With his calm and gentle character Dood was the star of the shoot. Often unknowingly he stole the spotlight with his canine smile and the multiple tops which kept him both warm and ever fashionable.
A sincere thank you to Jillian, Anthony and of course Dood, for making this school trip engagement photo shoot a one of a kind adventure.
